Leslie Jean-Eve Martin Taylor, 60, of Roanoke, VA passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was born January 7, 1959 in Roanoke, VA a daughter of the late, Melvin and Betsy Altizer Martin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and John Martin. Mrs. Taylor was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, crafting, bead work, sewing and making children’s clothing. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Chuck Edward Taylor; children, Dana Chittum and husband, Wayne, Charlie Taylor and Justin Taylor and wife, Angela; siblings, Dean Allen Martin, Kim Boone and husband, David, Tom Martin and wife, Sarah, and Jerry Martin; four grandchildren, Chance Taylor, Katelyn Taylor, Dylan Chittum and Ava Taylor. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Rev. Ben Mewald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. Leslie Renee’ Taylor, age 69, of Lexington, Mississippi, passed away on September 29, 2018, in Jackson, Mississippi, at Baptist Hospital. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, at First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, at First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. Dr. Paul Long will be officiating. Leslie Renee’ Taylor was born in Lexington, Mississippi, on October 21, 1948. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1966 and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from The Mississippi University for Women in 1969. Renee’ was married to Bluford Thomas Taylor Jr. on October 18, 1970; they were married 47 years. Upon graduation, Renee’ worked for Delta Airlines in Jackson, Mississippi, for 6 years. She later obtained a Mississippi Real Estate Broker’s license and became a Certified General Appraiser. She practiced at Renee’ G. Taylor Realty for 33 years. She enjoyed sewing and reading. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Mississippi. Above all, Renee’ was devoted to her family, and steadfast in her love for the Lord. He leaves behind his beautiful daughter Tristen Mary Joyce, Elizabeth the mother of Tristen, his parents Ron and Judy, his brother James, sister in law Catharina and niece Isabella. He is also survived by many dear Aunts, Uncles, cousins, family and friends. Jody was a gentle giant, a big man with a bigger heart. He touched so many lives. He was the power vocalist for the 90’s hardcore act Strain who would go on to tour throughout Canada, the US and Europe. After Strain, he also fronted the band Kersey. Jody had a passion and innate talent with a camera. The images he was able to capture were artistic & breathtakingly beautiful. Jody loved the water, spending the summer on his boat with Tristen and his friends. JODY LOVED LIFE, LIVED IT HIS WAY, A PUNKER FOR LIFE.
