How much does it cost to watch a race at Churchill Downs? ›

General admission tickets start at $10.00 per adult for Spring, September and Fall Meets. Children 12 years and younger are complimentary with paying adult (who is at least eighteen (18) years old with a valid ID).

The racetrack occupies 147 acres, featuring a one-mile dirt, oval racetrack and a seven furlong turf race course. The backside barns located behind the racetrack house more than 5,000 horses each year.

Results. The race was won by the Ken McPeek-trained Mystik Dan, who won a three-way photo finish over Sierra Leone and Japanese contender Forever Young. Mystik Dan came into the race with two wins in six starts, with his most recent victory coming in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

Tickets can be purchased directly from the Kentucky Derby official website. An Infield General Admission ticket, which gets you in the door, costs $130. This is as basic as basic admission gets for the Derby.
